Important Diocesan Announcements, Events, and Reports
The Episcopal Church, with the Presiding Bishop and PBS personality Kim Lawton hosted an international "town meeting" at the Cathedral Church of St. Mark. The major event was webcast with an international audience.
The two hour forum featured two panels of world-wide experts who used the Earth Day weekend to discuss the Intersection of Poverty and the Environment. The program also featured videos, including one produced by the Communications Office of the Diocese of Utah about Salt Lake City's westside. Westside neighborhoods in the Glendale and Rose Park areas have been selected by the EPA as part of a pilot program highlighting 10 neighborhoods through out America. The Cathedral Church choir also opened the webcast after greetings from Bishop Scott B. Hayashi, Dean Ray Waldon, and Anne Rudig, the Director of Communications for the Episcopal Church.

New diocesan equipment now makes webcasting from St. Mark's possible. Webcasts will now be able to bring services to your computer to serve those unable to attend worship in the 142 year old cathedral. The first major webcast was the Festive Choral Eucharist from St. Mark's on Easter Sunday. For a re-play of that webcast, CLICK HERE
Learn the Eucharist in Spanish! Diocese creates videos to help teach "Alternative Eucharistic Prayer B"in Spanish
More and more Spanish speaking people are joining the Episcopal Church in Utah. In our diocese and throughout the world, English speaking priests and bishops are also serving those who speak Spanish. Additionally, an increasing number of non-Spanish speaking members wish to worship as one body whereever the Great Thanksgiving takes place. The Rev. Cn. Pablo Ramos, the Canon for Latino Ministries of the Diocese of Utah, presents Alternative Eucharistic Prayer B in a series of clear and slowly spoken repetitive teaching tools in these videos. The Diocesan Communications Office also offers the videos on DVDs and the audio on CDs. CLICK HERE to see the videos
