The Rt. Rev. Phyllis Spiegel has issued a call for the Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Utah to be held at the Episcopal Retreat and Conference Center and the Cathedral Church of St. Mark in Salt Lake City, Utah, from October 17-19, 2025, with a Pre-Convention meeting via Zoom on September 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. to the clergy.

Clergy and Lay Delegates to the Diocesan Convention, which will be held October 17-18, 2025, are strongly encouraged to attend the Pre-Convention meeting on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Attendees will assemble at home to participate via Zoom.
Regional meetings will also be held for the Northern and Eastern/Southeastern Regions at 9:00 am to elect Regional Representatives to the Diocesan Council. All Clergy, Wardens, and Delegates in these regions will need to assemble to elect their representatives.
Each congregation needs to elect a Delegation Chair. This individual will coordinate their delegates and provide a report at the convention’s opening on Friday. This will expedite the reporting to the credentials committee and help deliver the quorum report.
Clergy: Please ensure your delegates are aware of this crucial date. It is imperative to inform everyone serving as delegates of these details. The Pre-Convention meeting, as well as participation in the entire Convention, is a required aspect of their commitment to serving in this role. Their participation will significantly influence the outcomes and direction of our mission.
From the Canons of the Diocese of Utah:
1.2.7 It is the duty of Lay Delegates to attend that meeting of the Convention to which they are
elected or appointed including pre-Convention meetings.
1.1.5 It shall be the duty of all Clergy entitled to seat, voice and vote in the Convention to attend
the Convention and pre-Convention meetings.
